Hello. I’m Julia Greuner, and I’m going on the Abmassador trip to Costa Rica this summer. So I guess this blog post is to write about myself then… so… yeah, I’ll do that. I live in Grapevine TX, near Dallas and I’m a senior at Grapevine High School. I’m going to the University of North Texas next year and majoring in radio/ tv/ film to try to be a writer or editor for video media. I love art (as you may see from my digital work that I currently display as my photo), and I play the guitar and sitar (as you might also see from said photo). I also make videos and short films, my favorite being music videos, whenever I get the time and resources (my friend, not me, is the one with the technology). I’m really looking forward to going on the trip to Costa Rica and doing God’s work; I’ve been wanting to do something like this pretty much since childhood and am super excited about it. I look forward to meeting everyone!

I’m really surprised that I’m the first one to do this…
Julia,
I love the picture of you playing the sitar; that is so cool. I was wondering what made you pick the Costa Rica trip. I look forward to meeting you.
Kimberly
Hi Kimberly, and thank you! Well, I was referred to AIM by a friend of mine who went on a four-week trip last summer, and I guess what made me choose Costa Rica instead of the other ambassador trips was because I’ve been told that it’s one of the safer countries of Central America, and since this is my first international mission trip I thought it would be a good place to start out with. How about you? I saw on your blog post that it’s your first big mission trip as well; I’m glad I won’t be the only one there who’s new to it
Julia, I chose Costa Rica because I have been taking Spanish in school since 7th grade and I figured that this would give me an opportunity to use and learn more Spanish. It is also a plus that it happens to be a peaceful country. I have also heard that the people there are very friendly; I am excited to meet them and see how we will be able to help them.
Kimberly I agree with the thing about the people being friendly. I had a bad experience seeing some of the violence in certain areas of New Orleans on a mission trip last summer, so I’m definately weary about where I’ll be going for a while
