Ever since childhood I’ve wanted to do mission work in other countries. I’ve been doing the shorter-range mission trips with my church since 6th grade, and it wasn’t until a friend of mine went on an Adventures in Mission trip to Peru last summer that I decided it was time make a reality of what I had always wanted to do. I considered a trip with my church to Kenya, but in the end the price of the trip and the condition of the nation were too extreme for a first international mission trip. My chuch did a series of sermons on sharing the gospel and doing well for others around this time, and I considered it a sign that a mission trip like this is something God really wants me to do. At first I was concerned about paying for the trip, and I believe God has been helping me with that as well by giving me generous supporters and answering my prayers and helping me get a job. I’m not sure if I mentioned this in my bio, but I really want to continue in mission trips and get to go on some longer-range, and possibly join the Peace Corps after college.
